The Buckeye Local School District would like to be proactive in the fight against the flu. Although we have not seen an increase in incidents thus far, with your help we can minimize the overall effects of the flu virus. We have contacted our local County Health Department for direction on precautions and we will follow their recommendations.
As a district, we will continue our disinfecting and sanitizing procedures in the classroom and on school buses. Please join us in the fight against the flu by reviewing and discussing the reminders below with your child/children.
Here are some important reminders.
- Contact your local healthcare provider if your child experiences flu-like symptoms and follow your doctor’s guidance and treatment.
- Wash hands often with soap and water, especially after toileting and before eating.
- Cough and sneeze into a sleeve or elbow, not hands.
- Keep child/children home for at least 24 hours after they are fever free (without the use of fever reducing medications).
- Get vaccinated.
