Q. Will the District accept bids containing equipment from manufacturers other than the manufacturers
listed on the Form 470?
A: Yes, the District will accept bids for the equipment listed on the Form 470 or its equivalents. All proposed equipment solutions need to be compatible with the current system, including an existing Cisco 5508 Wireless controller.

Q: There is a switch located a floor below one of the labs at the High School in a vault. Do you want to keep that configuration when replacing the switch?
A: We would be open to a new configuration for this switch.

Q: What is the ratio of students to Chromebooks?
A: Elementary Schools: 3:1; High School & Middle School 1:1

Q: Has the final drop placement been determined in each building?
A: Some of the drops are for AP placement and the others be determined at a later date.

Q: Do the IDFs connect to the MDF in each building by copper or fiber?
A: Copper.

Q: Are the cabling trays in the buildings at full capacity?
A: No, they are able to handle the cabling requested on the Form 470.

Q: Will building maps or floor plans be made available?
A: No.

Q: What is the desired AP placement in the classrooms?
A: Ideally they would be centrally located in the classrooms.

Q: What is the drop capacity per classroom?
A: There are four jacks available for current or new data drops.

Q: Are there any asbestos issues?
A: No.

Q: Is there any AP replacement planned in high traffic areas?
A: The APs being requested on the Form 470 are more for expansion of the current wireless network, than for replacement.

Q: Are lifts available for AP placement?
A: Yes.

Q: What are the ceilings like in the buildings?
A: A combination of acoustic tiles, drop ceilings, and plaster ceilings.

Q: What length would you prefer for the cable drops?
A: Please quote maximum length.

Q: Can data drops be run out of the IDFs or must they all be run out of the MDF?
A: They can be run out of the IDF.

Q: Is this a Prevailing Wage project?
A: No.

Q: When could the work be done (time of day, year, etc.)?
A: This will be flexible and is to be determined.
 
Q: How many MDFs, IDFs, Wired Labs, and Classrooms are in each building?
A: Please see table below:
