what the law requires

what the law requires

Ohio law (Ohio Revised Code 3317.25) sets clear rules for how school districts may use Disadvantaged Pupil Impact Aid:
  • Approved uses only. Funds must be spent on purposes listed in state law, such as mental health services, school safety, literacy and academic support, family engagement, and extended learning time.
  • Planned with community partners. Each district must develop a spending plan with at least one community partner, such as a local mental health board, health department, educational service center or nonprofit organization that serves children.
  • Reported every year. Districts report how the funds were spent to the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, which publishes each district's spending on its website.
These requirements help ensure the funds reach students where they're needed most, and that our community can see exactly how they're used.
